Hello Fellow bookworms,
How are we all doing? I hope those pages have been turning.
We are one week behind our reading schedule…! Oh dear. This was due to the difficulty in finding an appropriate book for week 45.
To get us back on track, this means that for week 46 and 47, the book reading will be combined. We will be reading a substantial size book for both weeks. It will be challenging, but we can do it. Can I get a ‘yes’ back please.
Now for the outstanding, which is week 45, we will be reading about lies and how it separates us from the love of God and the life He has already planned out for us. We will be reading the book “If God Is Truth: How Lies Separate Us from God and Bring Pain Into Our Lives by Alfonso Fernandez
Brief Synopsis:
Most religions assume in faith that God’s truth is revealed to them through sacred texts, like the Koran, the Book of Mormon, the Bible, etc. However, faith alone cannot confirm the accuracy of any of these sources of information, so the possibility of errors is very high. As a matter of fact, the existence of so many different, contrasting religious doctrines worldwide really proves a lack of accurate knowledge about God. If knowing God is the sign of a good relationship with him, then humankind just do not have a good relationship. Since the information present in our minds determine our relationships and shape our behavior, the correct information is essential for maintaining a healthy relationship with God. In reality, most of our religious beliefs simply are self deception, myths and lies, which we often accepted as children. But if the real God is Truth, then false information about him, counterfeit truths, distortions and lies will hinder our relationship with this God. If God is Truth, and we would like to maintain a good relationship with him, we should love and pursue truth in all of its forms. Therefore, we should validate all information for accuracy and abandon any false beliefs. If God is Truth, faith is not enough. That is why, “If God is Truth” provides its readers with a more objective, reliable view of God, which goes beyond religion and faith. More accurate information about God and a better understanding of the concept of truth will help the reader to achieve a successful personal relationship with him; one that is based on truth.
